Historical Marker Road Rally & Scavenger Hunt

How many times have you passed by those ubiquitous blue and gold signs that mark an important historical event? Maybe you’re in a hurry. Maybe the signs are in a place that makes them difficult to read. Maybe you’ve been looking for an opportunity to finally see what you ‘ve been missing and learn something new about the place where you live. Well, now’s your chance!
Get behind the wheel and rev up for serious fun! We’re putting on a road rally and scavenger hunt that tests your knowledge of area history along the roads of Deerpark and Port Jervis. Participants begin at the D&H Canal Visitor’s Center, 58 Hoag Road in Cuddebackville, NY. Drivers will be given a route that taking them through Deerpark and Port Jervis. At each stop, participants will seek out historical markers, answer each clue’s question and pick up proof that they’ve visited a site. We’re leaving small goodies at each site for players to keep as fun favors.
Participants have the opportunity to win CASH and other fabulous prizes for solving clues and scavenging goodies. Afterwards, relax and enjoy a great lunch at the D&H Canal Visitor’s Center that includes dessert and beverages.
This is a rain-or-shine event. Participants will need a cell phone that takes photos. Gather up your family and friends and make plans for a wonderful day. So what are you waiting for?
